Seabourn Expands Its 'Ventures By Seabourn' Shore Programme Into Northern Europe

Ventures by Seabourn takes guests to places they would only dream about, led by an expert on-board team of scientists, scholars and naturalists.

This summer sees Ventures by Seabourn expanding into Northern Europe. The season kicks off on board Seabourn Quest and her 21-day St. Petersburg & Scandinavia cruise departing Stockholm on 18 June 2016. Guests will experience exceptional destinations with fascinating shore excursions under the guidance and expertise of a dedicated team.

The Northern Europe programme takes guests through picturesque waterways and fjords, such as the Aurlandsfjords, Nordfjord and the Jakobshavn glacier; secluded inlets to scenic islands such as, Vigur, Storstappen and Lofoten Islands. This can all be seen via zodiac boats and kayaks, allowing guests to get up and close to the striking attractions.

With Seabourn’s ongoing focus on enrichment, guests exploring Northern Europe this summer will enjoy a strong onboard academic program, with Seabourn Conversations, from the ship’s impressive expedition team, including: Ignacio “Iggy” Rojas, Ventures Leader aboard Seabourn Quest, with 20 experience in the expedition travel industry; Dr. Coleen Batey, Senior Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Glasgow and an expert on the Viking Age; Luciano “Luqui” Bernacchi, has lived in Patagonia for the last 20 years, is a mountain, ski and naturalist, who will guide guests across ice-fields and ice walks on the Perito Moreno Glacier; and Kara Weller, an Alaska native with a background in research for universities and an expert ecologist in the Polar Regions and has completed over 130 trips to Antarctic.

There are numerous Ventures by Seabourn excursions scheduled aboard Seabourn Quest over the season ahead, including:
