MSC Cruises partners AC Milan

MSC Cruises have announced that they have renewed their long-standing partnership with Italian football club AC Milan. The Italian-owned cruise line made the announcement alongside AC Milan’s CEO, Adriano Galliani at the recent International Tourism Exchange, which was held in Milan.

Pierfrancesco Vago, the current CEO of MSC Cruises commented:“...I see MSC Cruises and AC Milan as two international symbols of success and professionalism, two ambassadors of Italian excellence and style in the world, and together I know, we will accomplish many great things”.

As part of this agreement, MSC will be putting on a special ‘AC Milan Cruise’ on the MS Splendida. This itinerary, which has been named ‘Crociera Rossonera’, will operate on the 5th June and will offer a number of football-themed workshops and tournaments, with some of them being hosted by a selection of AC Milan footballers. The Italian giants, who play in black and red, is one of Italy's most successful football teams and have long been a respected name throughout the sporting world. Former AC Milan players include David Beckham, Ruud Gullit, Paulo Maldini and current Chelsea FC manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Partnerships between football clubs and holiday companies are not a rare occurrence. In the past, tie-ins have included deals between Arsenal and Emirates, Manchester City and Thomas Cook and the now defunct tour operator XL.com’s sponsorship of West Ham United FC.
