Stavanger Cruises
Stavanger is the third largest city in Norway and is situated on the county’s south west coast. Stavanger is a popular call for Norwegian Fjord’s cruises and Baltic cruises, due to its geographical location close to Lysefjord and its stunning natural beauty.
Stavanger has been seen as one of Norway’s most important and influential cities since the middle of the 20th century following the discovery of oil in the North Sea.
Places of interest include Stavanger Domkirke, which is Norway’s oldest cathedral and Pulpit Rock – largely considered one of the most beautiful places on earth, where you can take in the wonderful views from its 1982ft table-top peak.
It is recommended visitors to the port take a trip to Svarthola. Also referred to as ‘The Black Cave’, Svarthola offers a glimpse into the region’s history and was home a group of hunters some 8000 years ago! However, if you’re looking to stay close to the city centre then you will find plenty of Museums, bars and eateries to keep you occupied.
