P&O Cruises Announces New Ship For 2012

P&O Cruises has announced that they will be expanding their already impressive fleet of cruise ships by introducing a new vessel in 2015. The new ship, which it is already claimed will be the “largest ever cruise ship built for Britain” will be constructed in Italy by ship builders Fincantieri.

The new 141,000 ship, which is still unnamed, will be able to carry over 3600 passengers and is being built specifically for the British market. Early reports suggest that the ship will retain all the signature features of a P&O vessel whilst at the same time heralding a new era for the cruise line with a new fresh design and a range of stylishly innovative amenities.

Carol Marlow, Managing Director of P&O Cruises has commented that the new cruise ship “deliver the ultimate P&O Cruises experience, with sophisticated wows and new features to attract thousands of newcomers…she will offer the ‘best of the best’”.

P&O Cruises’ fleet currently consists of 7 cruise ships, including Adonia which has only recently embarked on her maiden season following a naming ceremony which saw Dame Shirley Bassey announced as the vessel’s Godmother.
