Tema Accra is a popular port of call for many cruises that sail the southern coast of Ghana. If disembarking at the port, it is worth taking advantage of the many day-trips and excursions around Ghana's capital city, Accra, the centre of which lies only a short distance from the sea port. Whilst slightly more underdeveloped than other ports in the region, Accra has a fantastic range of forts and 17th century battlements that offer a fascinating insight into its long and colourful history.
