North Uist
Outer Hebrides
Situated between Harris and Benbecula, North Uist is half-submerged in water; leaving its eastern and central regions covered with wild peat moors, lochs and lochans, and farmland edged with fine, sandy beaches to the north and west. Ancient remains dot its landscape, including the Barpa Langlass Cairn. Lochmaddy is the main village and port.
