New York Cruises

The port of New York and New Jersey is the largest complex on the East Coast of North America. It is located at the core of the most concentrated and affluent consumer market in the world, with immediate access to the most extensive interstate highway and rail networks in the region. The two main ports are in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Manhattan port is where the majority of large cruise liners disembark, so all that New York City has to offer is within close proximity.

Throughout the 19th century there were many disputes between New York and New Jersey over their shared harbour and waterways. There was a dispute over the boundary line that goes through the harbour and the Hudson River, which was settled by a treaty in 1834. On the 30th April 1921 a Port of New York Authority was established to administer the common interests of both harbours.

As a place to explore, there are few better places in the world than New York. A bustling metropolis that confirms everything that has ever been written about it. Experience the amazing panaoramic views from the top of the Empire State Building, or cruise alongside the Statue of Liberty – rest assured, there is so much to do in New York you are likely to never be able to fit it all in.

A visit to New York is guaranteed to live long in the memory, where history and magnificent architecture combine to create the perfect backdrop for 'the city that never sleeps'.
