The famous tourist destination of Konigswinter is located at the slopes of the Rhine riverbanks in the Siebengebirge Mountain, a climatically and geographically prime location. In 1140, the archbishop of Cologne, Arnold I., started the building process for the Trutzburg castle on top of the rock. Today, you can still see a ruin of the medieval building.
