Iraklion Cruises

Iraklion or Heraklion is the largest city and capital of Crete. The city is located close to the ruins of the Palace of Knossos, the largest centre of Minoan culture. As a part of the Venetian Republic in 1204 it was greatly influenced by the Italian Renaissance. The city was named in the early twentieth century after the Roman port of Heracleum (Heracles) even though its exact location remained unknown.
