Montserrat Cruises
Picturesque Montserrat is situated in the Eastern Caribbean and is one of the many Leeward Islands. Offering an active volcano, tropical rainforests, and over 25 miles of coastline there’s much for the discerning cruiser to explore.
As you would expect, Montserrat is wonderfully scenic with a coastline consisting of sandy beach coves, volcanic rock formations and sheer cliffs. The black sand beaches that are dotted around the island become a nesting ground for sea turtles during their breeding season, which is between August and September.
Nature-lovers who enjoy a cruise to Montserrat will be pleased to know that the island is home to many rare species of bird including the Mangrove Cuckoo and the Purple Throated Carib– so make sure you pack your camera when you leave the ship for a day on ashore!
Due to Montserrat’s size (its total land mass covers just 40 square miles), the island isn’t visited as frequently as some of the other Leeward Islands.
