New Silversea Shore Excursions For Foodies And Wine Lovers

Luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises will be offering a fantastic collection of food and wine tours in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean this summer. The new shore excursions have been crafted specifically for Silversea guests who enjoy combining their passion for food and wine with enriching cultural experiences.

The shore excursions include distinctive experiences such as wine tasting in Croatia, a cookery lesson in the Ukraine and a delectable lunch at a Michelin star restaurant in Bordeaux. The excursions will join Silversea’s already expansive collection of tours that have proven hugely popular with guests, particularly with those whose travels are fuelled by a love of international foods and wines.

Darius Mehta, Silversea's vice president of air and land programmes, stated: "These new tours are a great way for our guests to attend dining events and wine tastings or learn about new cooking techniques in the destinations they visit. They tap into a growing trend among travellers to seek out unique food and wine experiences as a way to understand and connect with other cultures, traditions and people."

Silversea Cruises new tours include:

Sunset Wine Tasting in Dubrovnik: Situated in southern Dalmatia, guests will enjoy a sunset backdrop as they take a wine tasting tour in one of the region’s largest vineyards. Guests will enjoy a platter of local ham, cheese and breads to accompany the wine, whilst learning about the regions winemaking history.

Castle to Culinary Delights in Bodrum: After a trip to Castle of St John to enjoy beautiful views of the Aegean Sea, participants will head to the seafood restaurant Denizce to enjoy a practical cookery course. A local expert chef will teach guests the secrets of Mediterranean cooking and share with them his techniques, family recipes and special ingredients.

Odessa and its Cuisine: After a tour of Odessa’s historical and cultural landmarks, guests will enjoy a cookery class and lunch at one of Frantsuzsky Boulevard’s beautiful 19th-Century mansions. The cookery class will involve the preparation of a delectable Ukrainian lunch which will be enjoyed after class with a glass of Ukranian vodka and regional wine.

Dinner at Classified Wine Château Haut-Bailly, Bordeaux: Guests are taken to the heart of Graves and Pessac-Leognan region to visit the enchanting Château Haut-Bailly, Grand Cru Classe. Surrounded by 30-hectares of beautiful vineyards, the majestic Château provides the perfect setting for the participants exclusive wine tasting tour and intimate four-course gourmet dinner.

Chocolate Flavours of Dubrovnik- Created for chocolate lovers, this walking tour will take in the mediaeval architecture and cobbled streets of Dubrovnik’s enchanting old town and conclude with a chocolate tasting session at the Dbravka restaurant. Participates will be able to tantalise their taste buds with a rich assortment of local sweets flavoured with a variety of dark, milk and white chocolate, fruits and nuts.

Médoc & Château Cordeillan-Bages Lunch, Bordeaux: The tour will begin with a scenic drive through one of France’s most renowned wine regions, followed by a winemaking tour and vintage wine tasting at the Chateau Lynch-Bages winery. Afterwards, a scrumptious three-course lunch will be provided at the nearby Château Cordeillan-Bages, a Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel which has been awarded two Michelin stars.
