Silversea Cruises: New Audio Technology On Port Tours

Luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises has recently been trialling a new audio communication system on their guided port tours with a view to enhancing their guest’s in-port experience.

The Quietvox Audio System is designed so that speakers on guided tours are able to talk their party of listeners without having the need for everyone to be huddled around them at close quarters.

Each guest on a tour is provided with a small ear-piece/radio-unit that is sent a direct signal from the tours’ conductor via a microphone. The signal can be transmitted clearly up to a distance of 3250 feet and will negate the need for speakers to raise their voice unnecessarily when in a loud environment, such as a busy market square or a venue situated close to noisy passing traffic.

The dedicated channel of communication provided by Quietvox also means that guests are able to spread out and take photos when on a guided tour without missing out on any valuable information.

The Quietvox Audio System is currently available on selected Silver Spirit tours in the Mediterranean with Silversea planning to eventually roll-out the technology to the other ships in their fleet.
