Puerto Rico Cruises

Puerto Rico is a US territory situated in the Southern Caribbean, located just east of the Dominican Republic. It was claimed by Christopher Columbus on his second visit to the region in the late 1400s. He initially named the island San Juan Bautista after St. John The Bapist.

There is much to explore on a cruise to Puerto Rico and guests who visit the island by cruise ship will no doubt love its tropical climate, beautiful beaches and rugged, yet picturesque terrain.

Ostensibly Catholic (largely owing to its early Spanish colonisation), Puerto Rico fuses wonderful architecture, sumptuous regionally-influenced cuisine and sacred traditions. It’s perhaps more American than some of its Caribbean counterparts, though this blend and vibrancy only serves to increase the experience ashore.

For beaches, we advise that you head out Puerto Rico’s main town, San Juan, and head for Luquillo. This stunning stretch of golden sand is lined with towering coconut palm trees and is one of the most popular locations on the island for those seeking relaxation and water-sports.

If you’re looking for cruises to Puerto Rico and are interested in finding out which cruise lines visit the island, then Oceania Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises and Regent Seven Seas all include stops in San Juan on their Caribbean cruise itineraries.
