Northern Lights Cruises

Set sail on a cruise heading north and enjoy the thrill of the hunt as you go in search of the Northern Lights.

Northern Lights cruises are a fascinating way to experience one of the world's most unusual, natural phenomena. Not only will you get an excellent vantage point to witness the spectacularly colourful light show, but you will be able to enjoy all the comfort and amenities that a cruise ship has to offer.

The Northern Lights – also referred to as Aurora Borealis - are caused by explosions on the sun throwing out millions of particles, which in turn ignite as they hit the earth's atmosphere. Many people comment that the Northern Lights are similar to a rainbow at night, with the sky shimmering in an array of green, pink and purple hints of light. Every light formation is different which means your Northern Lights experience will be truly unique.

We offer Northern Lights cruises with many of the world's finest cruise lines, including Hurtigrtuen, Cunard and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.

Hurtigruten Northern Lights Cruises

Hurtigruten is the Norwegian experts, and they offer many cruises through the Norwegian Fjords and into the Arctic Circle - giving you plenty of opportunities along the way to spot the Northern Lights. Cruise from Bergen to Kirkenes on a Classic Round Voyage and witness the change in scenery as you travel north into the Arctic Circle. It is during this stretch that many people get their first glimpse of the lights as they transform the previously pitch-black sky.

The great thing about a Hurtigruten Northern Lights' cruise is that they offer a Northern Lights Promise. Should you not see the Northern Lights on a 12-day voyage, you will receive a FREE 5 or 6 day voyage! Find out more here.
