Cunard Release Weddings At Sea Details

Cunard has long been associated with romantic voyages and has served as a honeymoon choice for many guests during their 172-year history. However from April 2012, guests will be able to marry and celebrate their wedding day aboard one of Cunards luxury ships Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth.

Couples can choose to marry whilst sailing on one of Cunards worldwide voyages which last for seven nights or more. Destinations include the Mediterranean, Canada and New England, the Panama Canal, the Far East, the Caribbean and Scandinavia.

To maintain exclusivity for the wedding couple, only one ceremony will be arranged per day at either 11.30 am or 3.30 pm and will be conducted by the captain and whilst at sea.

Onboard, couples will have a dedicated wedding planner who will assist with organising beauty treatments, a photographer, the ceremony itself and the evening reception. Additionally, couples can also choose to have extra “Finishing Touches” such as an ice sculpture, a harpist or Caviar Breakfast in Bed.

Peter Shanks, president of Cunard Line stated;

“There is nothing quite as special as the setting of a Cunard ship...Saying ‘I do’ at sea aboard Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth or Queen Victoria promises so much more than a land-based venue. With a backdrop of the world’s most exotic coastlines in the Mediterranean and across the world, or the extraordinary sense of timelessness that you only experience mid-Atlantic, a Cunard wedding promises the happy couple a ceremony of classic style and sumptuous luxury.”

Whether wedding couples want a small intimate wedding or a celebration with the whole family, Cunard can cater for all party sizes. Various venues will be available from elegant lounges to award-winning restaurants including Todd English on Queen Mary 2 and The Verandah on Queen Elizabeth.
