Aurora Expeditions

Founded in 1991, Aurora Expeditions is one of the world’s leading expedition cruise operators. Offering an expansive collection of voyages in the polar regions, Aurora is the perfect choice should you be looking for a small-ship experience in Antarctica or the Arctic.

All of Aurora Expeditions voyages sail aboard their new ship, the Greg Mortimer, which spends the winter months in Antarctica, the Falkland Islands and Patagonia, and the summer months in Norway and the Arctic.

Life Onboard

The Greg Mortimer is one of the most comfortable expedition ships operating in the polar regions. Boasting fresh, elegant interiors and with plenty of vantage points from which to admire passing scenery, the 160-guest capacity vessel will provide you with the perfect base for your adventure.

Camaraderie plays an important part of each adventure and Aurora Expeditions do their utmost to ensure everyone is integrated into a tight-knit group for the duration of the experience. This makes Aurora Expeditions a great option for solo travellers, who even have a ‘cabin mate finding’ service which matches solo guests with cabin mates of the same gender. This has the added advantage of cutting down the cost of single supplements.

Another key feature of life onboard is the programme of lectures and briefings. Offered daily by Aurora’s destination specialists and activity leaders, these informative talks will inspire you to see the region you are exploring with fresh eyes and will add an extra layer to the things you witness throughout your voyage.

Exploring Ashore

Cruising with Aurora Expeditions is all about exploration. Led by Aurora’s Expedition Specialists, you will enjoy a daily programme of activities and shore excursions. Depending on the itinerary you choose, you can look forward to Zodiac trips twice daily and the opportunity to land ashore in places few are ever fortunate enough to visit.

  • Sea kayaking
  • Diving & snorkelling
