St John’s Harbour

St John’s Harbour is the main port in Antigua and is the island’s capital. As one of the oldest trading ports in the Caribbean, St John’s offers those visiting on a cruise much to explore; from walking in the imposing shadows cast by the towers of St John’s Cathedral to exploring some of the island’s fantastic architecture – some of which date back to 1600s.

The port is located close to the main centre of St John’s and as such many of its key attractions are within walking distance. It’s recommended you take a leisurely stroll along the wharf where you’ll be offered the opportunity to purchase everything from clothing to artwork and antiques by the port’s local vendors. Alternatively, if relaxing on the beach with a good book is more to your liking then take a cab to the beautiful Dickinson Beach which is about 5 minutes away from the harbour.
