Maasdam

Holland American Line Cruises has four vessels that are more likely to be identical and the Maasdam is one these. This ship with a tonnage of 55,451 can lodge over 1200 guests and has two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) plus two whirlpools. The Maasdam's décor is old fashioned and adorned by a multi-million Art work and lovely vases of flowers all over the public areas.

The Maasdam has more than 700 cabins with sea view and over 450 cabins with interior view, all of which have plenty of space but if you were looking for more room and luxury you can always book the unique Penthouse on the ship. This last one is contemporary furnished and comes with an oversize whirlpool bath for all your relaxing needs.

Maasdam's main dining room shares the same name with the Dutch city of Rotterdam. This facility is located on two floors with a genuine staircase and assigned seatings at specific times. The Pinnacle Grill is another restaurant on the ship with plenty of fish and seafood on the menu but remember that reservation is always required. Like the other ships of the Holland American Cruise line, the Lido Cafe is available for casual dining and small bites.

Activities on the Maasdam can include, apart from the off shore excursions, nice promenades around deck, sports practice such as tennis, basketball and aerobics, sunbathing and star watching on decks or some quiet time with a great book at the ship's spacious and finely decorated library.

Dining/Entertainment/Facilities

Dining
Rotterdam Dining Room has both open seating and fixed dining (designated table and time) options available for dinner, but only open for breakfast and lunch. There is a music balcony with music being played through meals and beautiful sea views. Served in style is traditional food and a five course menu. Non-smoking room.

Pinnacle Grill small with only seating for 66 guests but the best dining are to celebrate in style or dine in a special, elegant and intimate onboard restaurant. Reservations are essential and there is a cover charge. Dishes are mainly Pacific Northwest style.

Lido Buffet – a two line self-service buffet (one side is for smokers) serves casual breakfast, lunch and dinner with open seating (except the last night of the cruise)

Lido Café – poolside grill makes fast-food items such as hamburgers and hotdogs.
