Oceania Regatta: Ship guide, cabins and what to expect

Oceania Regatta has been sailing since 1998, and she remains one of the most charming ships in the Oceania Cruises fleet. Small, intimate, and thoroughly refurbished, Oceania Regatta carries just 684 guests, a fraction of what today's mega-ships hold. Here's everything worth knowing about her deck plan, cabins, and what a voyage onboard actually looks like.

A ship built on intimacy

Regatta belongs to Oceania's R-class, a group of four sister ships originally built for Renaissance Cruises before joining the Oceania fleet. Her small size is very much the point. With such a modest guest count, the Oceania Regatta ship feels more like a boutique hotel than a typical cruise liner, and that intimacy carries through to the service too. Regatta underwent a thorough refurbishment as part of Oceania's OceaniaNEXT programme, completed in 2021. Every cabin bathroom received new tiling, fixtures and glass shower enclosures, while the top suite categories were upgraded with Carrara marble and polished granite finishes. She might be one of the older ships at sea, but she certainly doesn't feel it.

The Oceania Regatta deck plan

The Oceania Regatta deck plan spreads suites and cabins across several decks, with Owner’s Suites, Penthouse Suites and Concierge Level Veranda staterooms found on Deck 8. Head up to Deck 9, and you’ll find the Terrace Café, Waves Bar & Grill, the pool deck and the Aquamar Spa. Deck 10 houses the ship’s two speciality restaurants, Toscana and Polo Grill, alongside the library and Horizons lounge. At the top, Deck 11 holds the sports deck, complete with shuffleboard and a golf putting green.

It’s a compact layout, which means everything sits within easy reach- no long treks across the ship just to grab a coffee or find your cabin.

Cabins and suites on Regatta

Regatta carries 349 staterooms across 16 cabin categories, so there’s a wide range of options depending on your budget and priorities. Around two-thirds of cabins feature step-out balconies, including 62 full suites and 170 standard balcony cabins. There are also 89 oceanview cabins, 28 inside cabins, and 14 dedicated single-occupancy Solo Oceanview staterooms, a useful addition for solo travellers who’d rather avoid a single supplement.

At the top end, the Owner’s Suites span almost 92 square metres and include a private teak veranda, a whirlpool bathtub, and a spacious living area. Suite guests also get exclusive access to a concierge-serviced lounge on Deck 11 and unlimited use of the Spa Terrace. Dining onboard Regatta

Regatta carries the same reputation for food that Oceania is known for across the fleet. Toscana serves refined Italian cuisine, while Polo Grill focuses on prime steaks and classic grill dishes, both included at no extra charge. The Terrace Café offers casual, all-day dining, and Waves Bar & Grill keeps things relaxed by the pool.
