Azamara destinations & itineraries guide
The simplest way to understand what makes Azamara different as a destination line is the overnight stay. Most cruise ships dock in a port for four to six hours and move on. Azamara regularly stays overnight, departs late in the evening, or builds consecutive days in a single destination into the itinerary. This is not a minor scheduling detail. It changes what you can actually do ashore, and for travellers who want genuine immersion rather than a quick look around, it is one of the most compelling reasons to choose the line.
Where does Azamara sail in 2026 and 2027?
Mediterranean
The Mediterranean is Azamara’s home territory and the region where the overnight-port-stay philosophy is most evident. The 2026 programme extensively covers the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, with itineraries visiting smaller ports that larger ships cannot reach. New ports of call in 2026 include Sarande in Albania, Turku in Finland, and Santa Marta in Colombia. The line consistently adds destinations that most cruise guests have not been to before.
Asia
Asia itineraries run through the winter and spring season, covering Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Indian subcontinent. Japan, in particular, books quickly for the spring sailing season. Country Intensive voyages in Asia visit multiple destinations within a single country for consecutive days, giving guests a depth of experience that standard port-hopping itineraries cannot match.
Caribbean and the Americas
Caribbean sailings cover both Eastern and Western routes, typically from late autumn through spring. The 2026 World Cruise on Azamara Onward departs Miami in January and visits 36 countries across Australasia, the Pacific Islands, the Persian Gulf, and the Mediterranean. For guests considering a longer voyage, our guide to Azamara vs Oceania covers how the two lines compare for destination-focused cruising.

What are Country Intensive voyages?
Country-intensive voyages are itineraries built around deep immersion in a single country or region. Rather than visiting a different country each day, the ship spends multiple consecutive days in the same destination’s ports. A Country Intensive Japan voyage might call at five or six Japanese ports across nine days, giving guests time to genuinely explore rather than rush.

Included shore excursions
Shore excursions are not included in the standard Azamara fare and are bookable separately. The AzAmazing Evening event is included on sailings of seven nights or longer. Port shuttles between the ship and the town centre are also included where applicable, which is a practical benefit in ports where the terminal is some distance from the main area.
Azamara Cruises from Southampton
Yes. Azamara operates sailings from Southampton, which makes the line accessible to UK guests who want to avoid flying to join a Mediterranean or Northern European itinerary. Availability varies by season. Browse Azamara 2026 sailings for current departures from UK ports.
Does Azamara include flights?
Return flights from the UK are included on selected sailings, with departures available from a range of regional airports. This varies by itinerary and fare type. Our Voyage Consultants can confirm which current sailings include flights and which airports they depart from.
