First Look: The Reinspiration of Oceania Marina

April 2026

Oceania Cruises has just announced something worth paying attention to. Oceania Marina, one of the line's most beloved ships, is heading into dry dock in October 2026 for a comprehensive stem-to-stern reinspiration. And from what we've seen, this is far more than a cosmetic refresh.

The transformation marks the first major milestone in Oceania's OceaniaNEXT programme, an ambitious, fleet-wide initiative designed to bring every ship in line with the contemporary elegance of the line's newer vessels, while keeping the things that make Oceania, Oceania firmly intact. The intuitive service, the destination focus, and that reputation for The Finest Cuisine at Sea aren't going anywhere.

Here's what's changing.

Every Stateroom, Reimagined

The most significant change is the one guests will feel most immediately. Every stateroom on Marina will be fully redesigned, with new layouts, new furnishings, and entirely new bathrooms finished in marble with spacious rainforest showers. It’s the kind of overhaul that will make the ship feel genuinely new rather than simply updated.

The higher categories, Penthouse, Oceania, Vista, and Owner’s Suites, will also receive a refresh to bring them into step with improvements already made across the fleet. If you want a broader picture of how Oceania’s suite categories compare, our Oceania vs Azamara guide covers cabin sizes and accommodation across both lines in detail.

Public Spaces with a Fresh Energy

The changes extend well beyond the cabins. Public areas throughout the ship will feature new furnishings, updated carpeting, and refined lighting, creating a more cohesive, contemporary interior.

The Grand Lounge gets the most exciting addition: the Founders Bar. Think artisanal cocktails, barrel-aged Negronis, and small-batch gin creations in an atmospheric setting. It’s the kind of space that makes pre-dinner drinks feel like part of the experience rather than a preamble to it.

A New Chapter for Culinary Immersion

Oceania has always built its reputation on food, and the reinspiration leans into that further. The former Artist Loft will become a dedicated Chef’s Studio, offering an expanded programme of culinary demonstrations, expert-led sessions, and food and wine tasting experiences.

Baristas, the ship’s coffee house, is also getting an upgrade with the addition of a Bakery, bringing freshly baked French and Italian pastries on board throughout the day. Whether that’s alongside a morning cappuccino or as a mid-afternoon treat, it’s a small addition that will make a noticeable difference to daily life on board.

The signature speciality restaurants, Polo Grill, Red Ginger, Toscana, and Jacques, will all see refreshed interiors and updated galley improvements. The food was already the draw; now the settings will match. Oceania’s dining setup is one of the main reasons guests return voyage after voyage, something we explore in our Oceania vs Azamara comparison if you want to see how it stacks up against another popular upper-premium line.

Out on Deck

The pool deck is also in line for an update, with all new sun loungers and day beds replacing the existing furniture. It sounds like a minor detail, but anyone who has spent a sea day on a well-designed deck will know how much it matters.

What Stays the Same

For all the changes coming to Marina, the core of what makes Oceania worth booking remains untouched. The warmth and attentiveness of the crew, the open-seating dining, the destination-led itineraries across the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Alaska, the Caribbean, and beyond, all of that continues exactly as it should.

This reinspiration is about making sure the ship reflects who Oceania is today, not reinventing what already works.
