Explora I entered service in 2023 as the first ship in the Explora Journeys fleet. Purpose-built to introduce the brand’s vision of contemporary luxury cruising, she established the all-suite accommodation, exceptional dining and relaxed onboard atmosphere that continue across every Explora Journeys ship today.

Explora I and Explora II offer an almost identical onboard experience, so we’d generally recommend choosing between them based on itinerary, departure date or fare rather than the ship itself. Explora III introduces a handful of enhancements, including a larger Conservatory Pool, Shore Club on 11, a redesigned Lobby Bar and an integrated wellness area, but the accommodation, dining and overall atmosphere remain remarkably consistent across the fleet.

Your fare includes all-suite accommodation, dining across six restaurants, premium beverages including champagne, fine wines and spirits, gratuities, high-speed Wi-Fi and 24-hour in-suite dining. Access to the fitness facilities is also included, while shore excursions, spa treatments, boutique purchases and dining at Anthology are available at an additional cost.

The Ocean Terrace Suites are among the largest entry-level suites in luxury cruising and represent excellent value for most guests. Ocean Penthouses offer additional living space and more desirable locations higher on the ship, while the Ocean Residences and Owner’s Residence provide expansive apartment-style accommodation with enhanced amenities and personalised service. For most guests, yes. Dining, premium drinks, gratuities, Wi-Fi and in-suite dining are all included in your fare, so very little is paid for once you’re on board. The main additional costs are shore excursions, spa treatments, shopping and dining at Anthology.

Explora I spends her seasons exploring many of the world’s most desirable cruising destinations, including the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East. Itineraries often feature longer stays in port and overnight calls, giving you more time to experience each destination than is typical on a traditional cruise.

Explora I welcomes up to 922 guests and maintains one of the highest space-per-guest ratios in luxury cruising. Combined with an exceptionally attentive crew, this creates a relaxed atmosphere where the ship rarely feels crowded, even on sea days.

Yes, although Explora I is designed primarily with couples and adult travellers in mind. Families travelling during school holidays can take advantage of the Nautilus Club, where younger guests enjoy supervised activities, games and dedicated spaces while the ship’s calm, sophisticated atmosphere remains unchanged.

Explora I offers a noticeably different experience from more traditional luxury cruise lines. While operators such as Silversea and Regent Seven Seas Cruises place greater emphasis on classic luxury cruising, Explora Journeys has created a more contemporary, resort-style atmosphere centred around spacious suites, exceptional outdoor living and the freedom to enjoy your voyage entirely at your own pace.
