From Rome, you will set sail for Sorrento, Italy where you can explore the nearby UNESCO archaeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Torre Annunziata. Messina in Sicily, will bring you to an active volcano and UNESCO site, Mt. Etna. Drive through a fertile paradise of green vineyards and golden citrus groves thanks to the rich volcanic soil, passing through villages such as Santa Venerina and Zafferana Etnea. The quaint fishing town of Gythion, which was once known as Sparta, is an easy area to wander on foot, or you can join an excursion to visit the Dyros Caves or Mystras Byzantine City.
