Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises offers a gentler pace of luxury. The ships are small enough that you recognise faces by the second day, the dress code is country club casual with no formal nights, and the atmosphere feels more like a well-run boutique hotel than a traditional cruise ship. All sailings are adults-only, which only adds to the sense of calm.
Food is central to the experience – not as an afterthought, but as something Oceania has genuinely built its identity around. Jacques Pépin oversees the culinary programme, every speciality restaurant is included in the fare, and the Culinary Center on larger ships offers hands-on cooking classes tied to the destinations you’re visiting. It’s a line that attracts people who care about what they eat and where they go.
Browse our collection of Oceania Cruises 2026 and Oceania Cruises 2027 to see where the fleet is heading – from the Mediterranean and Baltic to Asia, Alaska, and extended world voyages. Accommodation overview
Staterooms on Oceania feel more like boutique hotel rooms than cruise ship cabins. The design is calm and understated – soft colour palettes, quality fabrics, and Oceania’s signature Tranquility Bed, which guests regularly cite as one of the best sleeps at sea. Marble bathrooms, proper storage, and thoughtful amenities come as standard across all categories. Even the entry-level rooms feel spacious and well-considered.

Veranda Staterooms
The most popular choice across the fleet, and easy to see why. Veranda Staterooms offer around 290 square feet plus a private balcony – enough space to feel genuinely comfortable without paying suite prices. You get the Tranquility Bed, marble bathroom, seating area, and the simple pleasure of morning coffee with the door open and the sea in front of you. On the newer Allura-Class ships, layouts are even more generous.

Concierge Level
A middle ground for guests who want added benefits without full suite pricing. Concierge Level staterooms are the same size as standard Veranda rooms but come with extras – priority dining reservations, dedicated concierge service, welcome champagne, and access to the Concierge Lounge on larger ships. A sensible upgrade for guests who value personal service.

Penthouse Suites
A significant step up in space and comfort. Penthouse Suites offer around 420 square feet plus balcony, with a separate living area, larger bathroom, and butler service included. Butlers handle everything from unpacking and packing to dinner reservations and in-suite dining arrangements. Priority embarkation, afternoon canapés, and access to the Executive Lounge on larger ships complete the package.

Owners & Vista Suites
The flagship accommodation on each ship. Owner’s Suites feature Ralph Lauren Home furnishings on Marina and Riviera, with expansive living spaces, wraparound balconies, and dedicated butler service. Vista Suites on the newer ships offer a similar level of luxury with more contemporary design. Both feel closer to a private apartment than a cabin – proper entertaining space, premium amenities, and the best positions on the ship.

Amenities & Facilities
All staterooms include the Tranquility Bed, marble bathroom, flat-screen entertainment, refrigerated minibar, and 24-hour room service. Higher categories add butler service, priority boarding, and lounge access. Interconnecting staterooms are available for guests travelling together who need more space. Layouts vary by ship – our Voyage Consultants can help match the right cabin to your preferences.

Dining overview
With culinary programmes overseen by Jacques Pépin and all speciality dining included, Oceania Cruises has redefined the gastronomic voyage. From hands-on destination-themed cooking classes to world-class menus, this is the definitive choice for the discerning traveller who values taste as much as the destination.

Grand Dining Room
The main restaurant and the heart of Oceania’s dining programme. Open seating means no fixed times or table assignments – just turn up when you’re ready. The menu blends European technique with global influences, changes daily, and includes lighter Canyon Ranch options for guests watching what they eat. The room itself is elegant without being stuffy, and service strikes the right balance between attentive and relaxed.

Polo Grill
Oceania’s classic American steakhouse. Prime cuts, dry-aged beef, and seafood done simply and well. The setting is refined – white tablecloths, dark wood, proper glassware – but the atmosphere stays relaxed. It’s a favourite for guests who appreciate a perfectly cooked steak without the performance. No cover charge, though reservations are worth making on busy evenings.

Toscana
Authentic Italian dining in an intimate, candlelit setting. The menu draws on regional traditions from across Italy – handmade pasta, slow-cooked ragùs, veal piccata, tiramisu done properly. Many of the recipes come from the families of Oceania’s own Italian staff, which gives the whole thing a sense of warmth and genuineness. One of the most popular venues on any sailing.

Red Ginger
Pan-Asian cuisine with bold, clean flavours. The menu spans Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese influences – miso-glazed salmon, Vietnamese sea bass, tempura, and dim sum among the highlights. Presentation is precise, the room is calm, and it’s a welcome change of pace for guests who want something lighter. Available on the larger O-Class and Allura-Class ships.

Other dining venues
Other options include Jacques, an intimate French bistro named for Jacques Pépin himself, serving classics like coq au vin and duck confit. La Reserve offers a premium wine-pairing dinner for a supplemental fee – worth it for serious food lovers. The Terrace Café handles breakfast and lunch buffet-style with an emphasis on fresh, regional ingredients. Waves Grill serves poolside favourites – burgers, seafood, and salads. Privée is a private dining space for special occasions. In-suite dining is available around the clock.

Amenities Overview
Oceania ships are designed for comfort rather than spectacle. You won’t find rock climbing walls or go-kart tracks, but you will find elegant lounges, well-kept pool decks, and quiet corners to settle into with a book or a glass of something cold. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried – country club casual, as Oceania describes it. Nothing feels crowded, nothing feels forced, and the ship never gets in the way of the destinations.

Culinary Center
Found on the O-Class and Allura-Class ships, the Culinary Center is a proper working kitchen where guests can take hands-on cooking classes led by professional chefs. Sessions often tie into the destinations on your itinerary – pasta-making before an Italian port, Asian techniques ahead of a stop in Vietnam. Class sizes are small, the equipment is serious, and you eat what you make. A genuine highlight for anyone who cares about food.

Horizons
The main social hub for evening drinks and daytime sea views. By day, Horizons offers a relaxed lounge space with panoramic windows – a good spot for a coffee and a quiet read. After dark, it transforms into a livelier venue with music, dancing, and cocktails. It’s where many guests end up after dinner, whether for a nightcap or to stretch the evening out a little longer.

The Library & Card Room
For guests who prefer a quieter pace. The Library is well-stocked and genuinely peaceful – a proper reading room rather than a token shelf of paperbacks. The Card Room hosts bridge games, board games, and the occasional puzzle. Both spaces attract guests who value calm over activity and appreciate having somewhere to escape the poolside bustle.

Other Amenities
Other amenities include a pool deck with whirlpools and attentive service, an onboard boutique, and a curated art collection displayed throughout the ship. Martinis bar offers pre-dinner cocktails and live piano music. Baristas serves proper coffee and pastries throughout the day. On the larger ships, the Artist Loft hosts creative workshops from painting to sketching. Everything is designed to feel spacious, welcoming, and easy.

Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center
Oceania’s spa is a calm, well-designed retreat offering a full menu of massages, facials, body treatments, and beauty services. Thermal facilities include sauna and steam rooms, and there are quiet relaxation areas to unwind before or after a treatment. On larger ships, the Aquamar Spa Terrace offers an exclusive outdoor space for Concierge and Suite guests – a peaceful spot away from the main pool deck.

Fitness & wellbeing
The fitness centre features modern Technogym equipment, free weights, and a dedicated space for stretching and floor work. Classes include yoga, Pilates, and guided meditation, often held on deck when weather permits. A jogging track offers outdoor exercise with views of the sea. For guests who prefer to stay active ashore, many itineraries include walking tours, cycling excursions, and gentle hikes. The Aquamar Vitality menu in the dining venues supports the wellness theme with lighter, plant-forward dishes.

By day
Days at sea unfold at your own pace. Enrichment lectures cover destination history, culture, photography, and wine – delivered by speakers who know their subject. The Culinary Center runs hands-on cooking classes. The Artist Loft offers workshops in painting and sketching. The Library is well-stocked and genuinely quiet. Some guests settle into a lounger by the pool and don’t move until dinner. There’s no programme to follow, no announcements pulling you somewhere you don’t want to be. The space is yours to fill.

When night falls
Evenings are relaxed and sociable rather than showy. The main lounge hosts live music, vocalists, and occasional production shows – polished but never overdone. Martinis bar draws guests for pre-dinner cocktails and piano music. Horizons comes alive after dark with dancing and a livelier atmosphere. There’s a small casino for those who enjoy it. Most guests find their rhythm – a show followed by a nightcap, or dinner that lingers long enough to skip the entertainment entirely. Nobody’s keeping score.

Families
While Oceania appeals mainly to adults and couples, families with older children are welcome. Interconnecting rooms and suites suit multigenerational travel, and cultural excursions and onboard enrichment provide shared experiences. Without kids’ clubs, the atmosphere suits families seeking calm, meaningful travel together.

FAQs
Whether it’s life on board or daily excursions ashore, these FAQs are designed to guide you through the Oceania Cruises experience.
All fares include dining across every restaurant onboard – speciality venues included – plus WiFi, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and still and sparkling water throughout the day. Gratuities are prepaid, and laundry services are included for suite guests. Flights and drinks packages aren’t included as standard, but can be added, and Oceania regularly runs promotions that include flights or time-limited deals with a beverage package included.
Yes, from 2026 onwards. Oceania announced the change following feedback from loyal guests and now welcomes only passengers aged 18 and over at the time of sailing. There are no children’s facilities onboard. The shift reinforces the calm, refined atmosphere that Oceania is known for and suits couples, solo travellers, and groups of friends travelling together.
Country club casual throughout. During the day, smart leisurewear is fine anywhere onboard. Evenings are a step up – think a collared shirt and trousers or a dress – but there are no formal nights and no need to pack black tie. Jeans, shorts, and trainers aren’t permitted in the restaurants after 6pm, but beyond that, nobody’s policing what you wear. It’s relaxed but put-together.
Yes. Oceania operates extended world voyages visiting 100+ destinations over several months. These attract a loyal following and often sell out well in advance. The 2027 programme includes full world cruises and shorter Grand Voyages for guests who want a taste of the experience without committing to the full journey. If you’re interested, book early – the best suites go quickly.
They’re owned by the same parent company but sit at different price points. Regent is fully all-inclusive – excursions, drinks all complimentary – and positions itself as a six-star ultra-luxury. Oceania offers a similar focus on food and destinations but at a more accessible price, with more flexibility over what you add. Think of Oceania Cruises as refined luxury without the ultra-premium price tag. If you’re unsure which suits you, we can help.
Depends what you’re after. The Regatta-Class ships (Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, Sirena) carry around 670 guests and feel intimate and traditional. Marina and Riviera are larger, with around 1,200 guests, and have more dining options and the Culinary Centre. Vista and Allura are the newest, with modern design, more space, and the full range of amenities. Ship choice often comes down to itinerary, but if size or style matters to you, let us know, and we’ll guide you.
For the right guest, absolutely. The dining alone sets Oceania apart – every speciality restaurant included, no surcharges – and the ships are small enough that service feels personal. It’s not ultra-luxury pricing, but it’s not mainstream either. You’re paying for exceptional food, destination-rich itineraries, and a relaxed atmosphere without the crowds. Compare it to similar lines once you factor in what’s included, and it holds up well.
Oceania works well for solos. Single supplements apply, though reduced rates appear on select sailings. The ships are small enough that you see familiar faces, and the open-seating dining format makes meeting people straightforward. Enrichment lectures, cooking classes, and shore excursions offer natural opportunities to connect. The adults-only policy from 2026 adds to the calm, sociable atmosphere. It’s a comfortable experience without feeling isolated.
A hands-on cooking school found on the larger O-Class and Allura-Class ships. Professional chefs lead small classes in a fully equipped kitchen, teaching techniques and recipes inspired by the destinations on your itinerary. You might learn pasta-making before Italy, Asian flavours ahead of Vietnam, or pastry skills on a sea day. Class sizes are limited, and the equipment is professional. Best of all, you eat what you create!
Oceania’s loyalty programme. You’re enrolled after your first voyage, and you earn credits based on the number of nights sailed and your stateroom category. Benefits increase through the tiers: onboard discounts, cocktail receptions, priority embarkation, free laundry, early access to new itineraries, and, eventually, complimentary cruises at the highest levels. Worth knowing about, though not something to think if you’re planning your first Oceania cruise.
