After the cultural and gourmet feast that is Barcelona, we relax into life onboard with a day at sea, which takes us to the glitzy shores of Monaco. We have an overnight in Monte Carlo, so you can admire the gleaming superyachts in the harbor, dine in the waterfront restaurants, and have a flutter in the legendary casino. Next, another sea day takes us to Valletta, the sun-soaked capital of Malta built by the Knights of St John. Then we cross to Italy, calling by Giardini Naxos on the island of Sicily to explore the enchanting town of Taormina, with its ancient Greco-Roman theatre and captivating views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. Our next port is Salerno, which has all the picturesque charm of the Amalfi Coast but without the crowds, before we arrive in Civitavecchia, your gateway to the treasures of Rome.

A stroll along La Rambla and through waterfront Barceloneta, as well as a tour of Gaudí’s majestic Sagrada Famíliaand his other unique creations, are part of a visit to Spain’s second-largest city. Modern art museums and chic shops call for attention, too. Barcelona’s vibe stays lively well into the night, when you can linger over regional wine and cuisine at buzzing tapas bars.
