Start the year as you mean to go on – with adventure and excitement aplenty. This celebratory sailing departs from Los Angeles, calling first at Ensenada on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, for whale watching and wine tasting. Two sea days give you time to relax in the spa, practice your golf swing, and familiarize yourself with the myriad dining options, before we arrive in Manzanillo, where you can visit banana and coconut plantations and bask on a beach under blue skies (the city receives around 350 days of sunshine a year). Next, Puerto Vallarta beckons, with its blond-sanded beaches and nearby rainforests. In Mazatlán, dine on fresh seafood, admire the colorful 19th-century architecture of the Old Town, and stroll the long oceanfront promenade, before we call at Cabo San Lucas, the place to watch whales put on a magnificent show at this time of year. Two more days at sea bring us back to Los Angeles.
