Barcelona to Oslo

Cruise overview
Our epic odyssey departs from the Spanish capital of Barcelona, calling first at the 3,000-year-old city of Cádiz. We then arrive in Portugal, to explore the colorful capital of Lisbon, then raise a glass to Porto’s eponymous wine. Back in Spain, wander the historic streets of A Coruña and soak up Gijon’s seaside charm. The oenophile-approved French city of Bordeaux comes next, followed by the British maritime hub of Portsmouth, and Zeebrugge, gateway to Belgium’s Golden Age gems. In bonnie Scotland, highlights include the fairytale city of Edinburgh and the dramatic coastlines of Lerwick. Sailing through the glacier-edged waters of Norway’s Nordfjord, we come to Honningsvåg, where the North Cape (Nordkapp) teems with puffins and cormorants; Hammerfest, land of the midnight sun; and Tromsø, gateway to the Arctic. Craggy coastlines, picturesque ports, and the world’s northernmost capital city await in Iceland, before we reach Greenland’s creative capital, Nuuk. Majestic wildlife greets us at Paamiut, and Norse culture abounds at Qaqortoq. Sailing through the Prince Christian Sound brings us to Tórshavn on the Faroe Islands, before we return to Lerwick. We then call at the charming Norwegian ports of Stavanger and Mandal, completing our journey with two days in Oslo, the Nordic capital of cool.
Itinerary
Barcelona
The infinite variety of street life, the nooks and crannies of the medieval Barri Gòtic, the ceramic tile and stained glass of Art Nouveau facades, the art and music, the throb of street life, the food (ah, the food!)—one way or another, Barcelona will find a way to get your full attention. The capital of Catalonia is a banquet for the senses, with its beguiling mix of ancient and modern architecture, tempting cafés and markets, and sun-drenched Mediterranean beaches. A stroll along La Rambla and through waterfront Barceloneta, as well as a tour of Gaudí’s majestic Sagrada Famíliaand his other unique creations, are part of a visit to Spain’s second-largest city. Modern art museums and chic shops call for attention, too. Barcelona’s vibe stays lively well into the night, when you can linger over regional wine and cuisine at buzzing tapas bars.
