Cruise overview
Setting sail from Piraeus, the first stop on our 11-night Mediterranean voyage is the Greek island of Milos, where the prized Venus de Milo statue in the Louvre in Paris was originally found. A day at sea brings us to Malta’s historic fortified capital of Valletta, followed by charismatic Palermo on the Italian island of Sicily; Tunisia’s charming coastal town La Goulette; and the Sardinian city of Cagliari, for medieval villages and white-sand beaches. Enjoy all that Crystal Grace has to offer with another day at sea, before we arrive in Motril in Granada, a short journey from the marvels of the Alhambra. Following that, we have two days in the bustling city of Valencia, the birthplace of paella, before we disembark in the spirited Spanish capital of Barcelona.
Itinerary
Piraeus
It’s no wonder that all roads lead to the fascinating and maddening metropolis of Athens. Lift your eyes 200 feet above the city to the Parthenon, its honey-color marble columns rising from a massive limestone base, and you behold architectural perfection that has not been surpassed in 2,500 years. But, today, this shrine of classical form dominates a 21st-century boomtown. To experience Athens—Athína in Greek—fully is to understand the essence of Greece: ancient monuments surviving in a sea of cement, startling beauty amid the squalor, tradition juxtaposed with modernity. Locals depend on humor and flexibility to deal with the chaos; you should do the same. The rewards are immense. Although Athens covers a huge area, the major landmarks of the ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods are close to the modern city center. You can easily walk from the Acropolis to many other key sites, taking time to browse in shops and relax in cafés and tavernas along the way. From many quarters of the city you can glimpse “the glory that was Greece” in the form of the Acropolis looming above the horizon, but only by actually climbing that rocky precipice can you feel the impact of the ancient settlement. The Acropolis and Filopappou, two craggy hills sitting side by side; the ancient Agora (marketplace); and Kerameikos, the first cemetery, form the core of ancient and Roman Athens. Along the Unification of Archaeological Sites promenade, you can follow stone-paved, tree-lined walkways from site to site, undisturbed by traffic. Cars have also been banned or reduced in other streets in the historical center. In the National Archaeological Museum, vast numbers of artifacts illustrate the many millennia of Greek civilization; smaller museums such as the Goulandris Museum of Cycladic Art Museum and the Byzantine and Christian Museum illuminate the history of particular regions or periods. Athens may seem like one huge city, but it is really a conglomeration of neighborhoods with distinctive characters. The Eastern influences that prevailed during the 400-year rule of the Ottoman Empire are still evident in Monastiraki, the bazaar area near the foot of the Acropolis. On the northern slope of the Acropolis, stroll through Plaka (if possible by moonlight), an area of tranquil streets lined with renovated mansions, to get the flavor of the 19th-century’s gracious lifestyle. The narrow lanes of Anafiotika, a section of Plaka, thread past tiny churches and small, color-washed houses with wooden upper stories, recalling a Cycladic island village. In this maze of winding streets, vestiges of the older city are everywhere: crumbling stairways lined with festive tavernas; dank cellars filled with wine vats; occasionally a court or diminutive garden, enclosed within high walls and filled with magnolia trees and the flaming trumpet-shaped flowers of hibiscus bushes. Formerly run-down old quarters, such as Thission, Gazi and Psirri, popular nightlife areas filled with bars and mezedopoleia (similar to tapas bars), are now in the process of gentrification, although they still retain much of their original charm, as does the colorful produce and meat market on Athinas. The area around Syntagma Square, the tourist hub, and Omonia Square, the commercial heart of the city about 1 km (½ mi) northwest, is distinctly European, having been designed by the court architects of King Otho, a Bavarian, in the 19th century. The chic shops and bistros of ritzy Kolonaki nestle at the foot of Mt. Lycabettus, Athens’s highest hill (909 feet). Each of Athens’s outlying suburbs has a distinctive character: in the north is wealthy, tree-lined Kifissia, once a summer resort for aristocratic Athenians, and in the south and southeast lie Glyfada, Voula, and Vouliagmeni, with their sandy beaches, seaside bars, and lively summer nightlife. Just beyond the city’s southern fringes is Piraeus, a bustling port city of waterside fish tavernas and Saronic Gulf views.

Accommodation
All-suite, all-veranda
Crystal Grace hosts 337 suites across multiple categories. In a Crystal-first, every suite boasts a private balcony. Suite design has been led by Milan-based Studio Ibsen, which has reimagined the spaces with thoughtful new features, including walk-in showers and additional storage. The entry-level Premium Veranda suites boast beautiful ocean views, a built-in wardrobe, and a living area complete with a sofa.
Penthouse and Junior Penthouse Suites
Offering a step-up in living space, the Penthouse accommodation on Crystal Grace comes with a range of enhanced amenities, not to mention unlimited dining in the ship’s speciality restaurants and unlimited laundry. You’ll also enjoy a jacuzzi bathtub, separate living and dining areas, and an afternoon canapé service. As is customary with Crystal Cruises, butler service is included as standard.
The Owner’s Suite
One of the most exclusive suites at sea, Crystal Grace’s Owner’s Suite offers a haven of space with 270-degree views and a combined interior and veranda space of 3,915 sq.ft. Most notably, the private veranda boasts a hot tub, a dining area, and an outdoor shower, while the suite also hosts its own butler’s pantry and an integrated library. It is, without doubt, one of the most ambitious suites Crystal has ever created.
Dining
Dining on Crystal Grace
Crystal Grace is all-inclusive, and for many guests, dining sits at the heart of the experience. As with Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, every speciality restaurant – Umi Uma by Nobu, Osteria d’Ovidio, and Beefbar – is included in the fare. However, what changes on Crystal Grace is the physical environment and layout, with expanded outdoor dining areas, covered terraces, and shared bars creating a connection between the dining experience and the ocean.
Umi Uma by Nobu
Umi Uma is perhaps Crystal Cruises’ standout dining venue, and many of our loyal clients find the experience among the most memorable they have had. With 84 seats and a menu bursting with Japanese-Peruvian flavours, like the Nobu-style Black Cod and grilled Chilean sea bass. Situated on Deck 5, Umi Uma on Crystal Grace features a sushi bar (no reservation needed) and a full-height glass wall offering unobstructed ocean views.
Osteria d'Ovidio and Beefbar
Two hallmarks of the Crystal dining experience, these venues return on Crystal Grace, this time connected by a shared bar. Osteria d’Ovidio features menus designed by a three-star Michelin chef, Massimiliano Alajmo, while Beefbar serves a mix of signature dishes and elevated classics, including burgers and hot dogs
Casual and daytime dining
Beyond the speciality restaurants, Crystal Grace will feature an enhanced Bistro, a dedicated Pool Bar, and additional casual venues, adding further daytime choice. Full details of all venues will be confirmed closer to the inaugural sailing in June 2028. What is already clear is that Grace will offer the most considered outdoor dining programme Crystal has ever produced, with covered terraces across multiple venues designed specifically for life at sea in warm-weather sailing regions.
Amenities
What’s confirmed
What has been confirmed so far is that Crystal Grace will feature a full wraparound promenade deck that circles the entire ship. While this is a feature on Serenity and Symphony, it’s rarely found on ships of this generation. The Stardust Club and Galaxy Lounge will be brought together on Deck 11, creating a more cohesive and sociable evening atmosphere than the existing ships currently offer. A dedicated Pool Bar adds a further daytime social hub. Shore experiences aboard Crystal Grace will be curated exclusively by Abercrombie & Kent, Crystal’s sister company, giving guests access to A&K’s global network of destination specialists in every port.
What to expect
Based on what Crystal has confirmed and the direction established by the 2023 refurbishments of Serenity and Symphony, Grace will maintain one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the ultra-luxury sector. Butler service for every guest, unlimited WiFi, and the all-inclusive philosophy that defines the Crystal experience will carry through to the new ship.
Wellness
More details coming soon
Full details of the spa and wellness facilities aboard Crystal Grace have not yet been announced. Based on the Aurōra Spa experience aboard Crystal Serenity and Symphony, guests can expect a comprehensive treatment menu, sauna and steam facilities, and a well-equipped fitness centre. Crystal has indicated that Grace will build on and enhance the wellness offering established during the 2023 refurbishments, though specific details of treatments, venues, and spa square footage will be confirmed closer to the 2028 debut.
Entertainment
Evening venues
The most significant entertainment change aboard Crystal Grace is the consolidation of the Stardust Club and Galaxy Lounge on Deck 11, creating a dedicated evening and late-night destination that the existing ships don’t offer in as concentrated a form. On Serenity and Symphony, the evening venues are spread across different decks, which can dilute the social atmosphere later in the evening. If you’ve been on Crystal’s other ships, you’re likely to appreciate this change immediately.
The enrichment programme
Crystal has always offered one of luxury cruising’s best enrichment programmes, and this will continue on Crystal Grace. Expect the same mix of cultural presentations, wine events, destination lectures, and Broadway-calibre performances in the Galaxy Lounge that guests know from the existing ships. The photography programme and creative workshops that form part of the Crystal experience will carry through to the new ship.
Families
Families on Crystal Grace
Crystal Grace is designed primarily for adults and couples, following the same approach as Crystal Serenity and Symphony. There are no dedicated children’s clubs or structured kids’ programming. Families travelling with older teenagers who have a genuine interest in culture, food, and enrichment tend to find Crystal works well, and the all-suite, all-veranda format aboard Grace gives families more private outdoor space than the existing ships. Connecting suite options will be available for groups travelling together. If you’re considering Crystal Grace for a multigenerational trip, our Voyage Consultants can advise on the best suite configuration for your party.
