Built in 1996 and completely refurbished in 2016, Xavier III is a great choice if you are looking for a ship in the Galapagos that combines a spacious onboard environment, excellent gourmet cuisine and daily excursions to explore the islands.
Xavier III Itineraries
There are a range of itineraries available on Xavier III in the Galapagos Islands, most of which are dedicated to exploring the south, east and central areas of the region. The ‘marine-only’ itineraries (those that are solely ocean-based), range from 7 to 10 days while those that also incorporate a land-stay and activities in Ecuador or Peru are between 14 and 21 days.
All of Xavier III’s itineraries are accompanied by a team of seven crew members and one CEO Naturalist Guide. The CEO, which stands for ‘Chief Experience Officer’, is certified by the Galapagos National Park Service and well-versed in the region’s geography, wildlife and history. They will host a number of briefings and talks throughout your cruise, which will give you greater understanding of the islands you will be visiting.
In addition to this, Xavier III carries free-to-hire snorkelling equipment, beach towels and other water-based apparatus to ensure you get the most out of your time in the region.
Xavier III accommodation
The accommodation onboard Xavier III consists of 8 double occupancy cabins. 4 of the cabins are located on the ship's lower deck and have porthole windows, while the 4 on the upper deck boast a larger picture window. All the accommodation comes equipped with private bathroom facilities and air conditioning.
