Le Soleal was built in 2013 for Ponant Cruises and is the sister-ship of Le Boreal, L’Austral and Le Lyrial. Similarly to the other ships in Ponant’s ‘Le Boreal Class’, Le Soleal boasts a sleek design and an onboard experience more akin to a private yacht than that of a traditional cruise ship. Le Soleal is a fantastic choice if you are a couple, small group or solo traveller seeking cruise adventures in Antarctica, Asia, Alaska and the South Pacific.
Le Soleal Accommodation
Le Soleal provides accommodation for 264 guests across 132 staterooms and suites. There are three categories of stateroom (Superior, Deluxe and Prestige) and three categories of suite (Deluxe, Prestige and Owner’s). Aside from the Superior Stateroom, all of the accommodation categories on Le Soleal offer a private balcony and the following amenities:
In addition to the above, guests in the Owner’s Suite will receive butler service and one hour of complimentary spa treatments.
Le Soleal Dining Options
There are two dining venues on Le Soleal, both of which are available to all guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ship's main dining room is situated on Deck 2. Breakfast and lunch are both buffet-style and offer up a variety of choices, including pastries and omelettes in the morning, and hot dishes such as lasagna and chicken in sauce at lunch. The evening meal is served course-by-course at your table includes a starter and soup as well as the main course and dessert. The evening menus consist of mouthwatering French cuisine, and as such, you can expect to enjoy wonderfully prepared fresh fish and meat dishes, with alternative options available for those with alternative dietary requirements.
For a more relaxed dining experience, head to the Grill Restaurant on Deck 6. Open for lunch and breakfast this casual indoor/outdoor venue boasts excellent ocean views and a choice of hot and cold dishes, while dinner (which is reservation only) is often themed, with dishes created to compliment the ship's itinerary.
Le Soleal Facilities
Despite the ship’s relatively small size, Le Soleal boasts a range of facilities and public spaces for you to enjoy during your cruise. She offers three lounge/bar areas, one of which has amphitheatre-style seating and doubles as a lecture hall and entertainment venue. For health and fitness, Le Soleal has a full-service spa where you can enjoy a variety of treatments, a health suite equipped with all the standard gym equipment, and an outdoor swimming pool on Deck 6.
