My Favourite 2015 Luxury Cruise Itineraries

March 24, 2014  |  Share:

In our latest blog post Danielle Fear looks ahead to 2015 and chooses three luxury cruise itineraries that really stand out to her.  From the dense jungles of Central America to the frozen plains of Greenland and Canada,  each voyage offers a combination of in-depth destination-led discovery and a comfortably elegant onboard experience.

Three wonderful 2015 luxury cruise options

I am an avid cruiser.  In fact, some might say I am addicted to it – and I would definitely not correct them. I recently returned from my 20th cruise and even now I still struggle to pick an itinerary and stick to it. I want to see the world, every last bit of it and every itinerary I look at screams “pick me”. With that said, I wanted to use today’s blog to share with you three luxury cruise itineraries for 2015 that I would not think twice about embarking on. They are the kind of voyages I would have on my bucket list, I wonder if they will end up on yours too?

Grand South America and Antarctica aboard Holland America Line Prinsendam – Departing 3 January 2015 for 37-nights.

I picked this cruise because I have always wanted to see South America and this voyage takes in so much of it. Every destination on the itinerary fills me with excitement and having already experienced a partial Panama Canal transit, I would certainly jump at the chance to do it again. It was an incredible experience!

Itinerary: Fort Lauderdale | At Sea x2 | Isla de Providencia, Colombia | Puerto Limon, Costa Rica | Cruising Panama Canal – Enter at Cristobal and exit at Balboa | At Sea | Manta, Ecuador | At Sea | Salaverry, Peru | Callao (Lima) Peru 2-nights in port | General San Martin, Peru | At Sea | Arica, Chile | At Sea | Coquimbo, Chile | Santiago, Chile (overnight in port) | At Sea | Isla Robinson Crusoe, Chile | At Sea | Puerto Montt, Chile | Darwin Channel Chilean Fjords | Chilean Fjords | Cockburn Channel | Punta Arenas, Chile | Cruising Glacier Alley | Ushuaia, Argentina | Cape Horn and Drake Passage | The Palmer Archipelago | The Danco Coast | The Antarctic Sound | At Sea | Pt Stanley, Falkland Islands | At Sea x2 | Montevideo, Uruguay | Buenos Aires, Argentina

San Francisco to Southampton aboard Queen Elizabeth – Departing 8 February 2015 for 83-nights

This cruise I selected because you read its title ‘San Francisco to Southampton’ and although it sounds interesting it’s not until you actually view the itinerary that it really comes to life. This voyage is nothing short of spectacular and it takes in Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong and American Samoa, all places on my ever-expanding bucket list.

Itinerary: San Francisco, California | At Sea x4 | Honolulu, Hawaii | Lahaina, Hawaii | At Sea x5 | Pago Pago, American Samoa | At Sea | Apia | At Sea | NukuAlofa, Tonga | At Sea x2| Auckland, New Zealand | Bay of Islands | At Sea x2| Sydney, Australia (overnight in port) | At Sea | Brisbane, Australia | At Sea x2 | Cairns, Great Barrier Reef | At Sea x2 | Rabaul, Papua New Guinea | At Sea x5 | Yokohama | At Sea | Nagasaki, Japan | Pusan | At Sea | Shanghai, China | At Sea | Hong Kong (overnight in port) | At Sea | NHA Trang | Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | At Sea | Bangkok, Thailand | Sihanoukville | At Sea | Singapore | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | At Sea x4 | Mumbai, India | At Sea x2 | Abu Dhabi, UAE | Dubai, UAE | At Sea x6 | Safaga, Egypt | Sokhna, Egypt | Suez | At Sea | Istanbul, Turkey (overnight in port) | At Sea | Valletta, Malta | At Sea x2 | Lisbon, Portugal | At Sea x2 Southampton

Kangerlussuaq to St John’s aboard Silver Explorer – Departing 3 September 2015 for 17-nights

So why this one I hear you ask, well, it is an expedition voyage and taking a true adventure cruise is high up on my ‘must do cruise list’. I have had a taste of adventure cruising thanks to a recent Arctic Circle voyage but I do long for a true explorer’s adventure and doing it in five-star luxury is very tempting indeed. It also takes in a huge chunk of Greenland, a country also on my bucket list.

Itinerary: Kangerlussuaq | Sissimiut | Saqqaq | Illulisat | At Sea | Nuuk | At Sea | Iqaluit | Cruise & Explore Lower Savage Islands, Canada | Nanook Harbour | At Sea | Cape Dorset | Opingivik | Alpatok Island | At Sea x2 | Battle Harbour | L’anse Aux Meadow | Twillengate | St John’s, Newfoundland
