Distant Destinations With Silversea Cruises

Silver Spirit Silversea Destinations

Silversea cruises are passionate about bringing you closer to the magic and unmistakable thrill of discovering a new, distant destination. With a fleet of five immaculate luxury ships, they sail guests to all four corners of the globe on intriguing and enriching voyages.

A voyage with Silversea is an all-inclusive affair – the way luxury travel should be – so once you step aboard you will find everything is included in the price – gratuities, drinks including fine wines and champagnes, in-room refrigerator stocked to your preference, 24-hour room service, selected shoreside events and complimentary transport in most ports. You really don’t need to think about anything other than exploring each wonderful destination.

I decided to highlight three Silversea voyages in today’s blog that I feel each offer something completely different when it comes to world travel. We are going to go all the way from the magic of the Far East to the rich and colourful lands of Africa so sit back, relax and enjoy the adventure.

Far East and a roundtrip from Singapore

Kuala Lumpur Silversea Destinations

Join Silver Wind on January 24 2015 for a wonderful 14-night voyage that really does take in some of the best ports in all of Asia! This particular cruise is perfect for those that want to take in the big city life on some days and opt for a more relaxed approach on others.

Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia’s largest city and it is waiting to be explored. Must see things here include the Central Market near Chinatown, Petronas Twin Towers, Muzium Negara (National Museum) and Merdeka Square (Independence Square), which is home to two colonial landmarks and tropical gardens.

Phuket, known as the pearl of Thailand, is your personal playground in paradise and when in Thailand one must try the local cuisine and enjoy the natural beauty of a local beach. Fresh seafood is high on the menu here and some of the most delicious dishes are available. Be sure to try the crab, giant prawns, crayfish and lobster. One the best beaches, Patong Beach, is a 45-minute drive away from the port but it is certainly worth the journey.

Itinerary: Singapore | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | Penang, Malaysia | Sabang, Indonesia | At Sea | Port Blair | At Sea | Yangon, Myanmar (2-nights in port) | At Sea | Phuket, Thailand | Langkawi | Malacca, Malaysia | Singapore

South America and a voyage from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso

Ushuaia Silversea Destinations

Silver Shadow shall depart on December 5 2014 for a 15-night itinerary that shall explore three wonderful countries and leave you craving more. This voyage is ideal for those looking to get a real taste of South American life.

Port Stanley, capital of the Falklands, is full to bursting (literally) with Penguins! You will not just see one or two, you are more likely to come across an entire army and they include King, Gentoo and Magellanic. Port Stanley is the ideal destination to simply go it alone and enjoy a scenic walk. There are plenty of little pubs and cafes for you to enjoy a beer and light snack before heading out again and exploring at your own pace.

Ushuaia is often regarded as the southernmost city in the world and is the most common starting point for voyages that are exploring Antarctica. One of the biggest attractions here is the Tierra del Fuego National Park. The park features waterfalls, forests, mountains and glaciers and is full of wildlife.

Itinerary: Buenos Aires | Montevido, Uruguay | Punta del Este, Uruguay | At Sea x2 | Port Stanley, Falkland Islands | At Sea | Ushuaia, Argentina (overnight in port) | Punta Arenas, Chile | Cruising the Chilean Fjords x2 | Puerto Chacabuco | Puerto Montt, Chile | At Sea | Valparaiso Chile

Africa From Accra to Cape Town

Bom Bom Island Silversea Destinations

On November 23 2015, Silver Cloud shall depart Accra, Ghana, for a 13-night voyage that takes in all the beauty of Africa’s west coast. This voyage is ideal for those that want to enjoy a big slice of this incredible country and combine relaxing beach days with rich cultural experiences.

Lome is your chance to see the real Africa and mix and mingle with the locals. One of the main things to experience here is the Lome Grand Market, which has a large 3-storey hall. Here you can find everything from red peppers to travel accessories. The Fetish (Voodoo) Market is also worth checking out! The market itself is very busy, for something less frantic we would suggest staying closer to the port where the way of life is more relaxed.

Bom Bom Island Resort is located on Principe Island and is truly breath-taking. The only thing to do here is eat and relax, it really is a wonderful slice of heaven in the Gulf of Guinea. There are two private beaches on the island along with a swimming pool, bar, changing rooms and a small duty free shop.

Itinerary: Accra, Ghana | Lome, Togo | Cotonou, Benin | At Sea | Bom Bom Island, São Tomé and Príncipe | São Tomé, São Tomé and Príncipe | At Sea | Luanda, Angola | At Sea x2 | Walvis Bay, Namibia | Luderitz, Namibia | At Sea | Cape Town, South Africa
