Xanten Cruises
Xanten was first mentioned as a Roman garrison town on the Lower Rhine. Later it was mentioned in the song 'Niebelungen Lied' as the home of Siegfried. Xanten is a prime example of successful conservation and urban refurbishment. From the landing stage you will move on to the town hall where you will be greeted with a glass of real 'Kanonikus'. This specialty of Xanten is a liqueur made by a religious order. Afterwards, there is time enough to look around the old town and view the Cathedral of St. Victor, the marketplace and various medieval buildings.
