Windstar Purchase Three Seabourn Ships

Seabourn Legend, Pride, and Spirit set to join Windstar Cruises

Seabourn Cruises has announced that they have sold three of their fleet to Windstar Cruises for an undisclosed fee.

Luxury cruise line Seabourn had initially announced that the three vessels - Legend, Pride, and Spirit – were being put up for sale last week in order to make space for the delivery of a new, larger vessel in the next couple of years. News was then released that a deal had been agreed with Windstar Cruises for the purchase of the vessels with the fee as yet undisclosed.

Windstar Cruises has been in operation since the early 1980s and currently has 3 vessels of their own; Wind Star, Wind Surf and Wind Spirit.

Speaking of the decision to buy Seabourn’s “triplets”, Windstar Cruises’ CEO Hans Birkholz said that the acquisition means that the cruise line will be able to offer a great depth of choice to their guests, commenting: “All the things that the guests really love, we are going to be able to do them in areas we have never done before”

Those interested in sailing on one of the three cruise ships whilst they are part of Seabourn’s fleet still have the opportunity to do so until 2014. If you’d like further details of sailings on Seabourn Pride, Legend or Spirit, please call one of our Cruise Experts on 0800 008 6677.
