Windstar Cruises Unveil New Renderings For Star Class Ships
Windstar Cruises have shared a first look at the impact of their planned Star Plus Initiative at the recent Seatrade Cruise Global event in Miami, USA.
The transformation of Windstar’s Star-Class Ships - Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride - will cost the line in the region of $250 million and enhance each vessel with new suites, re-imagined public spaces and a variety of new dining experiences. The ships will also be lengthened to increase the capacity onboard from 212 guests to 312.
Windstar Cruises have enlisted the help of New York’s Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry to create the new public spaces and suites, while renovations will be undertaken by the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, who will use shipyards in Trieste and Palermo to complete the work.
Speaking at the Seatrade Cruise Global event, Windstar Cruises’ president, John Delaney, said:
“This is the biggest investment and expansion in Windstar Cruises’ history. The investment of a quarter of a billion dollars ensures to our loyal and future guests, and industry partners, that these ships will continue to sail for generations and deliver on their promise of visiting the smaller ports and waters of the world that our brand is known for. We are all proud to be part of this historic event in the small ship cruise industry”.
