Video Reveals Transformation Aboard Cunard's Queen Elizabeth
Cunard’s, Queen Elizabeth has returned from the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, following a multi-million dollar refit that seen the addition of new solo cabins and refreshed public areas.
Queen Elizabeth now features nine new single staterooms, one outside and eight inside, measuring from 159 to 162 square feet. She was also fitted with more than 25,000 square feet of new carpet, 3,000 new mattresses, 1,200 flat screen TV’s – most of which are 32” or above -and new awnings on the sun decks. The Lido restaurant and Royal Arcade shopping area were also re-modelled.
950 contractors worked 20-days to complete the refurbishment.
Sun awnings have been erected on the open area near the Lido pool at the stern on Deck 9 and on both sides of the Grills Upper Terrace area near the top of the ship to offer more shade out on deck. The creation of a dedicated studio enables the ship’s photographers to offer high-end portraiture, while the addition of touch screens in the photo gallery continues the development of a digital environment in which passengers can more easily find and select their photos taken by the team.
Cunard released a 4-minute video to show Queen Elizabeth’s transformation, you can watch this below.
