The Cruise Line is delighted to offer an exclusive fly-cruise fare on a once-in-a-lifetime Galapagos Islands' cruise with Tauck this December.
The voyage sets sail aboard one of the region's most iconic small ships, the 40-capacity Isabela II, and offers you the opportunity to explore many of the Galapagos Islands' highlights with likeminded guests.
Untouched and remote, the Galapagos archipelago has continued to fascinate wildlife experts, historians, geologists and writers ever since they were first discovered by Tomás de Berlanga, the first Bishop of Panama, in 1935.
In the modern era the Galapagos Islands are resplendent with an almost mystical 'land that time forgot' aura and as such have become a fixture on many discerning travellers' bucket lists.
CRUISING THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS WITH TAUCK
The best way to explore the Galapagos Islands is by small ship and with an operator that puts a firm focus on allowing guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in all the region has to offer. For this reason, we highly recommend cruising the Islands with Tauck, who offer a highly detailed itinerary that dovetails with a variety of in-depth shore excursions.
When not exploring the islands, you will be given time to relax onboard Isabela II, where you will enjoy fine dining options and highly personable, attentive service that is always friendly, yet never intrusive.
The public areas aboard Isabela II are perfect for spending time with other guests, while the spacious stateroom accommodation offers you a peaceful haven in which to relax before your next adventure begins. All of Isabela II's staterooms have outside views, an en-suite bathroom, and can be booked with double or twin beds.
Tauck's Galapagos itinerary has been designed to showcase many of the archipelago's most captivating points of interest. From climbing the 90ft high Prince Phillip's Steps to walking among the iguanas and yellow warblers on the sandy beach of Rabida Island, every trip ashore - by wet landing, dry landing or panga (a Zodiac-style raft) - will be guided by expert naturalists who will be close by at all times to impart knowledge and answer any questions you might have about each of the islands' history and wildlife.
Highlights include Buccaneer's Cove on Santiago Island, which in the 17th and 18th century was a hideaway for roaming pirates, and a guided walk along the lava flows on Isabela Island.
One of the main reasons the Galapagos Islands are such an attractive proposition for soft adventure enthusiasts is the abundance of wildlife. On any given day you might be landing by panga close to resting Galapagos Fur Seals, or if you are lucky enough, witness the incredible Galapagos Hawk cutting through the sky in search of its next meal. This is a trip on which you will want to keep your camera close by at all times!
The Island's also enjoy one of the world's greatest cross-sections of marine life and therefore you should not miss the chance to put on a snorkel and dip your head below the surface for some amazing underwater sights.
