Star Clippers Announces 2017/18 Voyage Collection

Star Clippers has announced a varied and exciting programme of sailing voyages for winter 2017-18. The five-month season of full-crewed sailings include memorable itineraries in Asia, Cuba and the Caribbean, with two opportunities to transit the Panama Canal or embark on a transatlantic crossing.

Royal Clipper will sail 7 and 14-night round trip itineraries from Barbados around the Windward and Grenadine islands cruising the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, dropping anchor in bays inaccessible by large cruise ships, where guests can swim from the drop-down marine deck, join a beach barbecue on a pristine white sand beach, such as the uninhabited island of Tobago Cays, and call into idyllic harbours and bays inaccessible by large cruise ships. Port calls include the islands of St. Lucia, Antigua, Bequia, Dominica, Martinique and St. Kitts, where both Royal Clipper and Star Flyer will come alongside at the same time. On 25th March. Royal Clipper starts a magnificent 14-night sailing around the coastline of South America, visiting Venezuela and the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire, returning via the Grenadines to Barbados.

Havana and Cienfuegos in December 2016 are new extended itineraries that include a night’s hotel stay in either or both cities, a cruise around Cuba’s coastline, port calls into the Cayman Islands and Cuba’s Caya Lago or Caya Rico spectacular beach resorts. The 9 and 10 night itineraries throughout December and January 2018 include a 9-night Christmas sailing, departing on 18th December 2017, and a 7-night cruise from Cienfuegos to Havana, with Christmas Day spent at sea, before arriving into Havana for Boxing Day. Throughout February and March 2018, Star Flyer sails round trip voyages from St. Maarten through the Leeward and Treasure Islands, including the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Barts, Nevis and St. Kitts.

When the 170-guest Star Clipper completes her inaugural season sailing Indonesian waters in summer 2017, she will relocate to her winter home port of Phuket, to operate two seven-night round trip itineraries in Thailand and Malaysia, north and southbound from Phuket, exploring the many islands off the coast accessible only by smaller ship. Navigating through marine parks, reefs, crystal clear water teeming with diverse underwater life, making port calls into Langkawi, pristine beach resorts, and coral archipelago Star Clipper will also operate itineraries between Singapore and Phuket, and including Phang Nga Bay with its forested limestone towers. The Asia itineraries provide numerous opportunities for sunbathing, snorkelling and other watersports, exploring on foot and taking photo safaris in the ship’s Zodiacs.
