Silversea Announce Silver Dawn For 2021
Silversea has announced that a new ship will join the line's fleet in late 2021...
The ship will be called Silver Dawn and will follow the delivery of another new build, Silver Moon, which is currently on order for 2020. The two new ships are estimated to cost Silversea in excess of €600 million and will see the line’s fleet grow to 11 ships.
Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, who took over as Silversea’s Chairman from his father in 2001, said in a press statement that it had always been his father’s ambition to grow Silversea to a 12 ship operation and that the order of Silver Dawn will see them “one step closer to fulfilling his vision”.
Like Silver Moon, Silver Dawn will be constructed at the famous Fincantieri shipyard in north east Italy. The shipyard, which recently finished the building of Seabourn Ovation, currently has another 44 vessels in the planning stages or under construction.
The yard’s CEO, Guiseppe Bono, welcomed the news of the new order and said:
'It is a great satisfaction for our group to see an ambitious project like Silver Muse establish itself on the market and get the highest appreciation from an exclusive and demanding customer like Silversea, that today confirms its trust in us,'
Both Silver Dawn and Silver Moon are intended to be sister-ships of Silver Muse and will offer all-Veranda Suite accommodation for no more than 596 guests.
