Silversea Cruises has announced details of an exciting pre-cruise land package for those wishing to experience the Australian Open in 2014.
Guests sailing on the Silver Shadow’s Australasia and Indonesia cruise, which departs on the 19th January 2014, will be given the unique opportunity to experience the Australian Open at Melbourne Park before just a few days before boarding the ship for their voyage to Bali.
Silversea’s Australian Open Package includes a three-night pre-cruise hotel stay in Melbourne’s Sofitel Hotel midway through the tournament, as well as the following:
- Reserved seating in the Rod Laver Arena
- Access to the arena’s bars and selected dining venues
- Access to Melbourne Park’s precinct for the night sessions
- All transfers between the airport, hotel, arena and Silver Shadow
Commenting on the package, Silversea Cruises vice president of air and land programs Darius Mehta, stated:
“Tickets for the Australian Open are not expected to go on sale to the general public until early October, making this a very exclusive opportunity….we’re delighted to offer our guests this unique chance to witness some of the biggest names in tennis going head-to-head as they battle for the top prize”
The Australian Open is one of the world’s major tennis championships alongside the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. Fresh from his recent triumph in Wimbledon, Andy Murray is currently the second favourite for the men’s prize behind Novak Djorkovic, while Serena Williams leads the pack in the female category.
