Seabourn Joins UNESCO In New Alliance For World Heritage Sites
Seabourn has signed an agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in a unique partnership designed to help protect World Heritage sites.
Seabourn want to help encourage wider support and understanding among travellers for UNESCO’s mission of identifying, safeguarding and promoting unique cultural and natural features around the world that are deemed to possess universal value for all humankind. The ultra-luxury cruise line has committed to raising $1 million for UNESCO.
For those travelling on Seabourn’s fleet, this means their experiences ashore shall be enhanced with behind-the-scenes information about current, and of course future, World Heritage sites and projects. There will also be expert speakers featured on certain voyages as part of the Seabourn Conversations enrichment programme. In addition, Seabourn’s optional excursions that include UNESCO World Heritage Sites will now include a donation to UNESCO’s World Heritage Fund. Seabourn will also create special World Heritage Discovery Tours at a number of ports worldwide, with exclusive enhanced content on World Heritage. Currently Seabourn includes over 150 UNESCO sites in its itineraries.
