Scenic Eclipse II Announced

Scenic has announced that their soon-to-launch expedition ship, Scenic Eclipse, will be followed by the Scenic Eclipse II in 2020.

The ship will be a sister to Scenic Eclipse and will offer all-Veranda Suite accommodation catering to no more than 228 guests. Scenic Eclipse II will boast ten onboard dining experiences, a luxurious spa and eight lounges/bars as well as a six-seat helicopter and a two-seat submarine which will be used for in-depth exploration in selected destinations.

Scenic Eclipse II will commence her service for Scenic with an inaugural voyage from Athens to Lisbon. The full day-to-day itineraries for Scenic Eclipse II will be released in April 2018, with the ship set to visit a variety of remote bucket-list destinations, including Russia’s White Sea, the Northwest Passage and Southern Greenland.

Commenting on the announcement, Scenic Founder and Chairman, Glen Moroney, said:

“Since we first launched our foray into ocean cruising we have had unprecedented success in Scenic Eclipse, from guests keen to experience our unique blend of six-star luxury meets expedition cruising. The debut of Scenic Eclipse II will not only allow us to expand our offering and pioneer new destinations, such as the Russian Arctic, it will also allow us to continue our passion for innovation in design and handcrafted itineraries”.

The construction of Scenic Eclipse II will begin in 2019, with the ship set to built in Pula, Croatia, at the same shipyard where Scenic Eclipse is currently being finished.
