Royal Caribbean To Offer Guests High Speed Internet

Royal Caribbean International Cruises is set to be one of the first cruise lines to offer their guests high-speed internet connectivity at sea.

Working in partnership with satellite communication suppliers O3b Networks, the cruise line is promising to implement a new internet system that will offer guests the opportunity to browse the internet and read emails at a speed similar to that which they experience at home and on land.

Using the internet whilst at sea is often a laborious process requiring numerous page refreshes and no small amount of patience. However, Adam Goldstein, CEO of Royal Caribbean believes that through working in conjunction with O3b Networks, Royal Caribbean will provide their cruisers with “unprecedented internet access at sea”.

It is hoped that the new system will be in place on Oasis of the Seas by Summer 2013 with other vessels within the Royal Caribbean fleet set to follow. The cruise line often wins plaudits for its forward thinking ideas and ambition with Goldstein stating that “delivering the most contemporary vacation” is very much key to their success.

Royal Caribbean International is one of the world’s leading cruise lines offering an exciting range of itineraries and amenities to suit cruisers of all ages. A favourite of those looking for family cruises, Royal Caribbean has recently won “Best Mainstream Cruise Company” at the Globe Travel Awards 2012.
