About the Rocky Mountaineer

Voted by the readers of National Geographic as one of the ‘World’s Greatest Trips’, the Rocky Mountaineer is a rail-trip unlike any other. Travel in daylight through one of the world's great landscapes; over plunging gorges, expansive waterways and snow-capped mountain passes aboard a luxurious custom-built train offering 5-star service and gourmet cuisine.

Throughout your journey you’ll be accompanied by the Rocky Mountaineers’ onboard attendants who will offer a unique live commentary on everything from the formation of the mountains, the wildlife that inhabits them and their historical significance.

Upon arrival in each town on your trip, you’ll be free to enjoy the local sights at your leisure as well as enjoy specially planned tours and sightseeing excursions, such as helicopter tours and guided tours through the Canadian wilderness. tour packages. Designed to give you the best possible Canadian Rockies experience, all of our Rocky Mountaineer schedules include overnight stays in hotels at each stop and offer ample opportunity to explore the towns and highlights of this incredible landscape.

We offer cruise packages with the following popular Rocky Mountaineer schedules included:

Canadian Rockies Circle: This route takes you to three of the Rockies most iconic destinations; Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff. There is ample time for sightseeing and our packages include a sightseeing tour by helicopter in Banff, which is fantastic for getting a birds-eye perspective of the Rockies.

Canadian Rockies Getaway:
Recommended for wildlife enthusiasts, this superb itinerary includes a tour of Yoho National Park, a prime location for catching a glimpse of the wolves, coyotes, bears and elks which form such an important part of the Rocky Mountain’s eco-system. This trip also stops in the towns of Kamloops and Lake Louise and includes a helicopter sightseeing tour in Banff.

Golden Circle (via Whistler): Enjoy a combination of 3 of the Rocky Mountaineer’s most popular routes designed to give you the best possible views of the magnificent Canadian Rockies. This 10 night tour includes a helicopter tour in Banff as well as ample time to explore the sights of Lake Louise, Jasper and the famous town of Whistler which recently held most of the 2010 Winter Olympics’ alpine events.

Trans-Canada Rail Adventure:
This superb journey offer passengers a remarkable overview of Canada’s wildly diverse landscape; from the cosmopolitan city of Toronto to the glimmering Great Lakes.   • Access to sheltered vestibule for incredible photograph opportunities

Rocky Mountaineer Silver Leaf Service:
  • Panoramic views from single-level dome-ceiling coach
  • Hot breakfasts and lunches served at your seat
  • Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages
  • Includes transfers to and from the train on package tours
  • Currently only available on selected itineraries
Rocky Mountaineer Red Leaf Service:
  • Reclining seats
  • Chilled breakfasts and lunches served at your seat.
  • Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages

Most of our cruise packages, particularly those with Silversea Cruises and Regent Seven Seas, come with the Gold Leaf Service as standard.
