Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company to launch cruise brand
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has announced that it is to expand its operation into the luxury cruise market.
The new cruise line, which will operate as The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, will commence service in 2019 and will consist of three passenger yachts, each catering for 298 guests. The onboard accommodation options will comprise of 149 suites with private balconies and two larger penthouses.
In-keeping with the luxurious standards found in their groups collection of hotels, the design and layout of each ship will take on elements of Ritz-Carlton’s land-based offerings. It has also been announced that the chef Sven Elverfield, who masterminded Ritz-Carlton’s three Michelin starred restaurant in Wolfsburg, Germany, will have his own centrepiece dining venue onboard. Details of other attractions include a Ritz-Carlton Spa, a sophisticated wine bar and a panorama lounge.
In terms voyage options, the ships will offer itineraries focused on taking guests to smaller ports, harbours and islands that are inaccessible to larger vessels. The sailings will range from 7 to 10 days with key destinations including the Mediterranean, Baltic region, the Caribbean and Central America. Ashore, guests will enjoy a curated programme of activities and excursions, planned in partnership with artists, chefs and performers from each region.
