QM2 To Recreate Maiden Voyage Of Britannia in July 2015

Cunard Britannia Voyage

Cunard has announced that the QM2 will recreate the line’s maiden voyage of Britannia from Liverpool to Halifax and Boston, setting out 175 years to the day.

In what promises to be one of the most momentous events in the 2015 cruise calendar, the voyage of Britannia on Queen Mary 2 will set sail on 4th July 2015 from Liverpool on a night 10 night sailing towards New York, stopping in Halifax and Boston along the way. The cruise and its itinerary will be an exact replica of the line’s maiden voyage in 1840 and will no doubt capture the imagination of cruise-enthusiasts everywhere.

The Britannia voyage forms just one part of Cunard’s 175th anniversary celebrations, and will follow the line’s three Queens’ assembly in front of the Cunard Building on the Pier Head in Liverpool on 25th May 2015. The occasion will mark the first time that the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria have appeared together on the River Mersey.

Full details of Cunard’s 175th anniversary celebrations have yet to be revealed and more details are to follow.
