Oceania Introduces Culinary Discovery Tours

Luxury cruise line Oceania Cruises will be expanding its culinary programme this spring with the introduction of Culinary Discovery Tours in over 25 ports around the world.

Available onboard Marina and the soon to be launched Riviera, the programme has been specially designed to reflect the regions local food and cuisine. Each Culinary Discovery Tour will include a visit to the local food market with a professional chef and depending on the location, guests may visit an artisan chocolatier, cheese maker, fish market or wine vineyard. The tours will also incorporate demonstrations, mini-lecturers or lunch before returning to the ship for a cookery class inspired by the day’s events at the ships Bon Appetit Culinary Centre.

“It was ground-breaking when Oceania Cruises introduced the first hands-on culinary school at sea with the launch of Marina,” stated Kunal S. Kamlani, the line’s president. “Now with the introduction of sister-ship Riviera we are taking culinary enrichment to a whole new level to solidify our reputation as the cruise line for epicureans.”

The Culinary Discovery Tours will launch May 2012 in Europe aboard Marina and Riviera. The program will them extend to ports in South America, Asia and the Caribbean during winter 2012-13.
