Oceania Cruises Announce New Cooking Classes
The new classes have been designed by Oceania Cruises’ long-standing Director of Culinary Enrichment, Chef Kathryn Kelly, and are set to launch at the end of April. The programme will aim to give onboard food-enthusiasts the opportunity to try out new cooking techniques as well as sample a variety of exciting flavours from around the world.
Commenting on the culinary programme, Chef Kelly said:
“In the Culinary Centre, guests cook under the instruction of faculty members who are experienced chefs and restaurateurs and have apprenticed under a who’s who or renowned chefs. We continue to add new classes to keep things fresh for our repeat guests and we’re thrilled to present our most diverse array of classes.”.
There are a couple of noted highlights featured in the new culinary programme. The first is a ‘Mastering Chef Knife Skills’ class, in which guests will be invited to get to grips with some of the knives used by the onboard chefs. There’s also a ‘Nordic Kitchen Class’, which focuses on the creation of some of Scandinavia’s classic dishes, including Nordic salmon rillettes, Swedish meatballs and Estonian fish soup.
Oceania Cruises is already recognised as one of the best at sea when it comes to cuisine. The line’s President and CEO, Bob Binder, believes the new classes are the perfect compliment to Oceania’s food-centric onboard offering.
“As the only foodie-focused cruise line, we strive to provide our guests with one-of-a-kind, hands-on culinary experiences that immerse them in the culinary cultures of the world”.
