Oceania Cruises’ Ships To Undergo Refurbishment
Oceania Cruises has today announced that its trio of award-winning R-Class ships, Regatta, Insignia and Nautica, will each undergo transformations starting in 2014. This will be the largest refurbishment programme in the cruise line’s history.
The ships will receive a $50-million upgrade across a six week timeframe which will include the refurbishment of all suites, staterooms and selected public rooms. It is expected that some areas shall be upgraded in a similar décor to those of the line’s newer vessels, Marina and Riviera. Top accommodations, the Owner’s and Vista suites will all receive brand new bathrooms with the addition of oversized showers. Original artwork will be commissioned for all suites and staterooms.
The Terrace Café, which offers casual gourmet dining, will also be completely refurbished including the addition of a state-of-the-art grill allowing for grilled dinner specialities such as lobster tails, steaks and lamb chops which were made famous on board Marina and Riviera.
Popular Barista coffee bar, Illy, will also feature on Regatta, Insignia and Nautica. Guests can enjoy complimentary gourmet and speciality coffee’s including cappuccinos and lattes accompanied by finger sandwiches, biscotti and homemade croissants. These will be available throughout the day.
The line’s observation lounge, Horizons, will also be refurbished along with flagship restaurant, the Grand Dining room and Toscana, the line’s Italian restaurant. Toscana will see the introduction of additional tables for two. Lastly all show lounges will be refurbished, Martinis will be outfitted with new furniture and the Canyon Ranch SpaClub® will receive new steam and changing rooms.

Dry docks are scheduled from April 24 to June 6 2014. Insignia and Nautica will be refurbished in Marseilles, France and Regatta in Vancouver, B.C.
Following refurbishments Insignia will debut on May 8 2014 in Barcelona for a 7-day Jewels of Europe cruise. This being Insignia’s first cruise after a two-year charter. Nautica will debut on May 16, 2014 in Civitavecchia for her 10-day Cliffs & Coves cruise and Regatta on June 7, 2014 in Vancouver for her 10-day Majesty of Alaska cruise.
