Longyearbyen is located on the island of Spitsebergen, in the Svalbard archipelago and is one of the world’s most northerly towns. Temperatures around the area are around 7 degrees Celsius in the summer and -21 degrees Celsius in the winter due to the polar climate. Visitors can see many stunning scenes whilst walking in and around Longyearbyen, or snowmobiles can be used.
